We welcome Gemil to Miami Encode for a quick interview. his recent EP has been on full repeat in our office so we thought it was high time to find out more…

How would you present/describe your work to someone who doesn’t know you?

I’m a producer of deep house tracks inspired by the sound of the 90’s

And your last record? How was it born? And where do you want it to lead?

The inspiration comes at any moment and you never know what will come out but what I really want is to listen one of my tracks smash the dance floor

What message would you like to convey to the public?

House music will never die !!!

How do you make music? What is most important for you?

It’s not about what equipment you use or where you’re from it’s about what’s inside….

Is there a unifying concept behind your art?

Yes it’s passion only passion keep me going on

What makes you unique?

I don’t want to sound snobbish but all the experiences that I had in the 90’s gave me an extra feelings for the good stuff

As for your studio, what is it currently composed of?

It’s mix of vintage synths and drum machines and something added new.

What is the one instrument you would never get rid of, no matter what?

Roland Tr808

Do you have hope for the future of music? How would you like the future of the music industry to be?

I think it’s the most prolific and crowded era of the electronic music scene ! I hope it will never ends.

Can you reveal some future projects to us?

The next release on DEEP DOWN & SLAM will be GEMIL & LCS house ep ,I’m also searching new artists for the label but it’s not easy to find out some real good stuff for me (only for me) !!!

What makes you happy?

Good food !!!! Remember I’m half Italian !!
