Fab From Toulouse joins us today on the Miami Encode Interview. One of the featured artists on the new Boxon Makes Me Sunny compilation on Boxon Records. A release that turned out heads, so we thought we would sit down and find out what makes him tick…
How would you present/describe your work to someone who doesn’t know you?
My name is Fabrice, I live in France and I mix on vinyls under the name of Fab from Toulouse. I am also an electronic music compositor.
And your last record? How was it born? And where do you want it to lead?
My last record is called Maasaï.
I got an inspiration by listening to songs from Massaï tributes and I feel very attracted by african sounds.
I wish my last record could be listened on every continent!
What message would you like to convey to the public?
We have to take the best of the music and share good vibes with people we love. 💓
How do you make music? What is most important for you?
I make music exclusively on analog machines and on a MPC 4000.
The most important is to have a good rythmics with a good round and warm bass. It has to be “croustillant” (crispy) . 🙂
Is there a unifying concept behind your art?
Sharing and collaboration with other compositors.
What makes you unique?
My efficiency and my rigor.
As for your studio, what is it currently composed of?
My studio is composed of a MPC 4000, 2 Waldorf : the pulse 2 + the blofeld.
Also 1 ATC from Studio Electronics with a Mackie cr 1604 and a ” Rosetta 200 ” sound card from Apogee .
What is the one instrument you would never get rid of, no matter what?
I will always keep my MPC 4000 my ATC .🥰
Do you have hope for the future of music? How would you like the future of the music industry to be?
Music will always be there to gather people and I hope it to be prosper for artists.
Can you reveal some future projects to us?
I just received my 2 last toys and I am currently composing a Gospel Ep.
What makes you happy?
My family and my analog synthesizers. 😁

Power outages !
