Lenz return to Color and Pitch with the dreamy, timely and soulful cut ‘Still I Rise’, inspired by poet Maya Angelou.

It has been a strong musical career, influenced by a multitude of musical styles, until Lenz found his most unique and personal style. With an insatiable appetite, his love for music knows no hierarchies, no shapes or sizes. ‘Still I Rise’ condenses the best of this producers.

Still I Rise is the latest work by producer Lenz. This work has a dark and intoxicating sound, but it is also a declaration of intent in the English style, of how music can be made strong through subtleties, and not through musculature, acceleration and instantaneous energy.

The themes that make up this work are structured in the form of infinite loops, so that sounds can be modulated that recreate psychedelic and soulless -but alive- musical passages. It’s like in each song there is a precise balance between melancholic and happy tones. As if the producer had wanted to combine both feelings, without dispensing with one or the other at any time. And unlike in his previous productions, here we find a narrative thread that unites each theme in an emotional and intense way. It seems that Lenz wanted to tell us something through sounds, something that he has to do with a world that tends to schizophrenia, to forget what surrounds it. Thus, Lenz was born to advance in a conception of things that he makes us contemplate, with measure and delicacy, but without getting lost in them.

“Still I Rise” can and should be heard as a timeless piece of music that transmits a positive idea in times of conflict, and its aesthetic appeals to the most basic, deep and receptive of the spirit. Lenz, in short, designs a wide and fragile sound to listen and feel from the depths.
