Pete Tong’s DJ Academy will be searching for the very best talent among his students to be crowned their new annual Future Talent winner from 2023 in association with DJ Mag. Applications will open in January, with only 10 students making the final cut into the official PTDJA Future Talent Top 10, attend the prestigious awards ceremony at IMS in Ibiza, plus a chance to perform with Pete, Carl, and the other tutors at the academy’s partner events.

“The aim of this project is to give back to the future generation of DJs and to provide a platform for the best to shine and get the spotlight they deserve” – says Pete. “I always felt we must preserve the art of DJing and give the new generation the chance to join the global circuit for their DJ skills. That’s why I’ve created the Academy and more specifically, this Future Talent Awards project.” – he adds.

Launched earlier this year, at IMS Ibiza. The comprehensive online e-learning platform, with over 90 lessons that cover every aspect of a career in DJing has been a huge success, with month-on-month growth at nearly 20%, and students joining the programme from all corners of the world, in over 45 countries.

The one to one on-demand video tutorials are led by its mentors including Pete, his founding partner Carl Cox, Nicole Moudaber, Jamie Jones, TSHA and MAT academy artists The ReLOUD have been experienced by over 1,000 students already. And with the addition of adding subtitles in over 8 languages this November, the Academy expects to see a continuous growth in subscriptions.

The newest and most exciting addition for members of the academy is the launch of their ‘Future Talent Awards’. A specially designed awards scheme to showcase the talented future generation of DJ’s. Whitling it down to just 10 students each year.

Each mentor will be able to nominate a selection of their top students, who will make it into the final draw, and where the winner will be announced at a prestigious event hosted at Dalt Vila, during IMS 2023 where they will be warming up for Pete at the iconic event. The grand prize winner will also be awarded by Pete, and each PTDJA mentor will also have their own award for their personal ‘star talent’ favourite
